Which theory of leadership do you think is most sound? Discuss which theory you would apply most often during your career in sales management.

There is no such thing in leadership where one theory is better than the other. The leadership theory is most effective according to specific time and situation. The best leadership is that when a leader chose the leadership style according to the need of time and the best tool in the situation.

            The transformational leadership theory focuses on long-term orientation focusing on the future context. In transformational leadership, the managers work for the subordinates to encourage them to work for the company for their own needs. The transformational leadership will help to focus on four characteristics, inspiration, intellectual, stimulated, individualized consideration, and charismatic and visionary leadership. These characteristics make a perfect combination for the managers to apply most during their career in sales management. Inspiration talks about being an inspiring factor within the subordinates, intellectual talks about making the subordinates to work towards the solution stimulated shows the capacity to use his/her ideas, individualized concerned shows concern toward each individual subordinates, and charismatic leaders inspire and motivates the salespeople. So transformational leadership working closely with the subordinate helps the sales managers to perform and achieve a long term vision improve the subordinates being inspirational, motivational, trustable, and development and growth through mentoring, coaching and counseling.
